What’s not to love about these little delights? Sputnik Aragonite clusters sparkling with radiance in epic twinned formation in which the crystals radiate outwards, similar in appearance to the famous Russian satellite ‘Sputnik’, hence the nickname.

The vibration of Sputnik Aragonite encourages conservation and caring for the earth and grounding stone attuned to Gaia. Being a earth healer and grounding stone it transforms geopathic stress and clear blockages, deepening your connection to the earth. Because of their structure they send light out in a variety of different directions.

Aragonite helps us to centre ourselves and is therefore extremely useful to have by us. As we prepare to meditate. It can also stimulate spiritual connections.

Aragonite is associated with greater wisdom. It is said to promote truth, understanding, and a clearer perception of reality. As a nurturing crystal, it helps lighten heavy emotions stemming from oppression. It helps its user be more tolerant and be able to demonstrate fresh insight when resolving issues (especially familial and work-related issues).

Just like the Oaktree, Aragonite is a crystal that can help you to feel deeply rooted in our planet. Helping you release excess energy, center yourself, and silence your mind.

GEOLOGY

Aragonite has similar chemical properties with Calcite, but with a different structure, symmetry, and shape. It can occur in various crystal forms – it can be in the form of small prismatic crystals, stalactites, masses, or in spherical aggregates. With a Mohs hardness level of 3.5 to 4, Aragonite is very fragile and can get easily scratched with a knife.

Aragonite is one of the two naturally occurring crystaliine forms of calcium carbonate, the other being calcite. Aragonite forms at low temperatures near the Earth’s surface. It is found in the oxidation zone of ore deposits. As stalactites in caves, in the vicinity of hot springs, and in mineral veins.

Aragonite was first discovered in 1790 by Abraham Gottlob Werner in Molina de Aragón, Guadalajara, Castile-La Mancha, Spain.
