Ammonite Fossil 

Now extinct, the ammonite mollusc was a shelled cephalopod. It appeared in a coiled, spiral external shell similar to that of the modern nautilus. These creatures lived in a habitat capable of creating megalith animals partially due to the heightened oxygen levels within Earth’s atmosphere.

The extinction of ammonites coincided with the extinction of dinosaurs, during the Cretaceous Period 66 million years ago.

Squalicorax Shark Tooth

Squalicorax, commonly known as the crow shark, is a genus of extinct lamniform shark known to have lived during the Cretaceous period.

This prehistoric shark was a coastal predator, but also scavenged as evidenced by a Squalicorax tooth found embedded in the metatarsal (foot) bone of a terrestrial hadrosaurid dinosaur that most likely died on land and ended up in the water.
